Delmas is the Senior Accountant at Foundation. He is motivated and driven by using financial and non-financial metrics to drive organizational focus and also to inspire confidence in decision-making.

One of the mantras that he lives by, is the “Audacity of Hope,” adopted from the title of President’s Obama 2006 NYT best-selling book. It’s the audacity of wanting to be more, accomplish more, grow more, and take on increasingly bigger challenges, that attracted him to Foundation’s extreme ownership culture.

Here’s a brief taste of Delmas’ personality:

WHAT IS USUALLY PLAYING IN YOUR HEADPHONES?

I am a huge contemporary gospel music lover, on any day you’ll find Marvin Sapp, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Fred Hammond and Jonathon McReynolds pumping through our house.

WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?

Growing up in Jamaica, I always wanted to become an Electrical Engineer. However, in the 9th grade, I took an accounting class and instantly fell in love with the use of numbers to inspire change and accountability. This love evolved into an accounting career that started in public accounting and then morphed into private accounting. I find accounting for industry allows me to be more personable and impactful.

WHAT ARE YOU HAPPIEST DOING, WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING?

When away from work, I enjoy weekends when I can bike the woodlands of New Brunswick with my wife and son or cook some of our favourite dishes such as Jerk Chicken.

WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?

I am an avid debater and public speaker and currently serve as a chairman for a local school board in Moncton, NB.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTES?

“Some people are so poor, the only thing they have is money” – Bob Marley
