There’s a lot of Mac Miller—and I mean a lotttt of Mac Miller. I’ve been a fan since my high school days, listening to “Kool-Aid and Frozen Pizza” in my headphones during class (even though my teachers didn’t always appreciate that).

Other than Mac, Drake and J. Cole albums are pretty common. Pretty much everything they release are instant classics for me, so it’s easy to stay focused while they’re playing. Mix in some Childish Gambino, Kanye and Spotify’s new releases playlist, and I’ve got myself a day.

For real though—a pro athlete. Didn’t matter the sport, I was just living in my own bubble that surely it’s not that hard to get good and go pro. I only played soccer as a kid, but I still somehow thought I had a chance of making the NHL. Flash-forward to today and I’m not in the NHL, NBA, NFL or playing pro footy somewhere in Europe (yet).

Sort of a cop-out answer, but it really depends on the time of year for me. In the summer, I always enjoy a trip to a patio for some drinks on a sunny day. The Halifax waterfront has plenty of good spots to go.

Outside of that, I’m a big sports junkie, so Sunday football is a happy place for me. I can sit for nine hours straight watching commercial-free NFL Redzone and love every minute of it. When March Madness and the NBA playoffs come around, my evenings are locked up tight. I even take a nice annual vacation during the first round of March Madness.

Staying on trend here—winning March Madness bracket tournaments. You can call it luck, but when you take home the top prize of your 100-person pool three out of five years running—I’m going to call it talent.

It’s all about the strategy. Understand the tournament rules, understand your probabilities, understand that the bracket “experts” on TV know just as little about what’s going to happen as everyone and BOOM—you can somehow win.

It’s always been a favourite of mine. I have a tendency to jump between multiple things at once, and shift from one goal to the next on a daily basis. For me, this quote is all about staying laser-focused on a single goal. Don’t get distracted by shiny-object syndrome—just set your target and go get it.
