What is usually playing in your headphones?
I’d have to say, I have a really eclectic taste in music. On my playlist, you can find anything from Marvin Gaye to Shania Twain, Matchbox Twenty to Cardi B. But if I had to choose a genre/era, it’d be late ’90s/early 2000s R&B and hip-hop—hands down!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
This is a bit of a loaded question.. I’ve always been obsessed with popular culture and all aspects of entertainment. Once I decided I probably wasn’t going to be an actor or model, I began dreaming of more of a behind-the-scenes role—TV/film producer, fashion designer, etc. As I entered business school, I figured producer or editor made the most sense for me (and are still in my line of sight…Oscars, Cosmo, I’m looking at you!).
What are you happiest doing, when you are not working?
I’m happiest when I’m creating or consuming art. I’m crafty, and I love to write, paint and sketch. I love music and I love fashion. I also love to dance. I took hip-hop for five years and I’m always dancing around the house. If I’m not, that’s how you know something’s wrong.
What is your hidden talent?
I don’t think this is a talent, but I’m really weird with dates. Like, tell me your birthday one time and I’ll remember it—and if not, I’ll at least remember the month. Fact: I remember the birthday of every single kid in my grade six graduating class—and there were about 26 of us.
What is one of your favourite quotes?
You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. — Maya Angelou
