Citation Conference // 2027
Code of Conduct
Our commitment
Citation Conference 2027 brings together marketers, agencies and brands to learn from each other. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, appearance, race, ethnicity, religion or level of experience.
This code applies to everyone involved: attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff, volunteers and vendors. It covers all sessions, meals, social events and after-hours gatherings connected to the Event, and all online spaces, including the Eventify app.
What we expect
- Treat everyone with courtesy and respect, in person and online.
- Respect personal space and people’s choice not to talk, connect or share contact details.
- Ask before photographing or recording someone up close.
- Follow instructions from Event staff and venue staff.
- Look out for each other, and tell us if something seems wrong.
What is not acceptable
- Harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any kind, including offensive comments about any of the characteristics above.
- Unwanted sexual attention, comments or physical contact.
- Stalking, following or persistent unwanted contact, including in direct messages.
- Disrupting talks or other sessions.
- Aggressive, threatening or violent language or behavior.
- Attending while impaired in a way that puts yourself or others at risk.
In the Eventify app and online
The app’s community feed and messages are for real conversation, not cold pitches. Unsolicited sales outreach, bulk messaging and self-promotion outside sponsor spaces are not allowed. Sponsors and exhibitors may promote their products only in their assigned sponsor areas and at their booths.
How to report a problem
If you experience or see something that breaks this code, tell us as soon as you can. You don’t need to be sure it’s a violation.
- Speak to any Event staff member, identifiable by all black attire.
- Email citation@foundationinc.co, monitored throughout the Event.
- Call or text Emme Chong at +1 (703) 609-1230.
- If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 or venue security.
What happens after a report
- We will treat you with respect and keep your report as confidential as we can.
- We will make sure you are safe and can speak privately. You may bring someone with you.
- You will never be asked to confront the person involved.
- We will record what happened, who was involved, when and where.
- The person reported will be told about the report and given a chance to respond.
Consequences
We will act quickly and in proportion to what happened. That may include:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from the Event without a refund, as set out in section 7.2 of the Terms
- Removal from the Eventify app
- A ban from future Citation Conference events
- Contacting venue security or police
