Welcome to Volume 273 👋
Happy New Year!
This week, we’re doing something different. Instead of our usual end of year roundup, we’re handing the mic to Foundation’s Senior Leadership Team to reflect on 2025 and share what’s on their minds heading into the new year.
Let’s get into it.
📚 Lessons We Learned from Foundation’s 2025
Ross Simmonds, CEO
The lesson that I would say I’m taking from 2025 is that there’s really no limits. We have been able to collaborate with some of the top brands in the world, partner with brands like Reddit. That’s been amazing to see!
James Scherer, VP of Strategy
I’ll talk about one thing which brought me a lot of joy in 2025: Our clients.
When thinking about our clients, we sometimes focus more on the importance of showing value or pushing back against scope creep. We apologize for a missed deadline or confusion over a topic’s focus.
But, within that stress, we also get to have a lot of exciting calls — calls where our clients come away knowing more about how they can build their business, have hope they can achieve their goals, and (even more importantly) have a really nice conversation with smart people (that’s us).
Going into 2026, I’d love for all of us (no matter if you’re directly client facing or not) to focus on building relationships with our clients. It can be the most joyful part of this work.
🚀 What We’re Excited About for Foundation in 2026
Ross Simmonds, CEO
The one thing that I’m excited about going into 2026 is the growth that Foundation has already had in 2025 and the growth that we’re going to have in the year ahead. We have the momentum at our back, and now we just have to capitalize on it!
Jessica Everitt, COO
What excites me most about Foundation in 2026 is how much momentum we’ve built and how intentionally we’re scaling it. In 2025, we grew our team across continents and disciplines while staying aligned on culture, standards, and impact. In the year ahead, the focus is on compounding that strength: tighter collaboration, stronger leadership, and improved systems that enable a global team to do their best work together. That’s how we continue to raise the bar as we grow.
Alicia Braganza, Account Director
One constant across the org is the team is made up of people who really care a lot about our clients, each other, and the work that we’re doing. Results and impact are a given, but what I’m most excited about for 2026 is continuing to build a high-empathy team of Account Managers & Leaders.
🎯 Our Advice for Marketers Heading Into the New Year
Ross Simmonds, CEO
If there was one piece of advice that I’d give marketers heading into 2026, it would be how important it is to experiment and to work on their craft. Amidst the rise of AI, it’s never been more important to work on ourselves as professionals, as creators, storytellers, and communicators.
Pat Blakely, Marketing Manager
In 2026, I want to see B2B content with stronger opinions (and the evidence to back them up) instead of playing it safe with boring summaries or abstract generalizations. Rock the boat, baby! AI has made information easy to find, but insight still belongs to we carbon-based beings. So don’t just report the data. Find the patterns. Say what they mean. Name them. Then package it into a sexy narrative. Ultimately, buyers aren’t looking for more information to file away. They want a perspective with a backbone they can actually invest in. Know what I mean, Vern?
Dozie Anyaegbunam, Creative Director
One piece of advice is something I’ve been saying since 2024. With the rise of AI, B2B content marketers need to think more like documentary filmmakers, not content marketers. This means understanding what your audience category entry points are and building narrative layers that position your brand as the source of truth in those conversations. Happy Holidays!
🎤 Ross is Speaking at Digital Cut 2026
Ross is taking the stage at Digital Cut 2026 — a three-day online conference bringing together the sharpest minds in AI, marketing, and digital innovation.
