Leigha is a Marketing Associate. Since starting her Bachelor of Commerce degree at Dalhousie University in 2016, Leigha has completed five content marketing internships in both the SaaS and marketing spaces; her employers have included a sports marketing company, full-service marketing agencies, and startups. As an ambitious content marketer, she has also held the role of president of the Rowe Marketing Association at Dalhousie University for the fourth and final year of her degree. Leigha will be graduating in 2020 with a marketing management major. Her first areas to tackle at Foundation will be content writing and copywriting, as well as doing extensive research, and social media strategy, skills she’s used during her internships.
Leigha sees the end goal of every project and contributes to every step of the process. Her resourcefulness and ability to shape the perspective of our team are amazing. Here’s a brief taste of Leigha’s personality:
What is usually playing in your headphones?
Mostly R&B/rap/alternative, and country music when I’m at the gym! My favourite artists right now are James Blake, 6lack and Sabrina Claudio.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to make commercials! When I was in grade five I remember my teacher, Ms. Teale, telling us that commercials “usually aren’t true; ‘Kills 99% of germs’ might be a stretch. Never trust commercials,” so I decided in that moment that I wanted to make commercials that people could trust. And I also wanted to be a vet. But blood makes me queasy.
What are you happiest doing, when you are not working?
Sailing in Chester! Being outside makes me happy, and the ocean makes me happier. The salty air out on the water is seriously rejuvenating, plus being around my friends and family never fails to put a smile on my face.
What is your hidden talent?
I have a really good memory! But it’s mostly just full of song lyrics. And numbers. It’s really selective too, but certainly comes in handy when I’m on a road trip, for example, and want to annoy the other passengers by singing (literally) every song that comes on.
What is one of your favourite quotes?
Everything happens for a reason.
It’s one that I quote on a daily basis. I believe that the universe has a plan for us all, and when something good or bad happens, it happens for a reason!
