B2B NEWS
Superpath acquires Help a B2B Writer
As a B2B writer, sourcing expert quotes can be tough.
It’s worse if you rely on traditional outreach alone to do the job. It could take several days, and multiple follow ups before your source responds.
Help a B2B Writer solved this problem.
The HARO alternative has aided many B2B writers in obtaining quick access to expert quotes from a variety of industries. The expert, on the other hand, gets free publicity and sometimes earns a backlink. It’s a win-win for both parties.
We’ve used the tool many times to reduce outreach time and get various expert quotes on a topic. It’s a handy tool you should check out if you haven’t tried it yet. And it’s about to get even better.
Superpath acquired Help a B2B Writer last week to integrate the tool into its Slack community. This move is a big win for Superpath as it will drive community growth, boost retention, and inspire more loyalty from existing members. They’ll have more reasons to invite their network to join the community.
Superpath’s solo founder Jimmy Daly also has other big plans with this acquisition:
- Gather feedback from community members to create more useful features.
- Adopt a freemium approach for the brand.
- Allow writers to schedule 1:1 interviews with subject matter experts and allow sources to share video feedback via Loom
- Make the platform more secure for users
The tool will remain free with the same features for content marketers. However, they’ll have to pay to access more features in the coming months.
These updates will certainly make the tool more useful for the B2B content marketing world. And this move can increase Superpath’s success and drive growth long term.
SaaS Acquisition
Coupa Software to go private after its $8 billion sale
Buyout firm Thomas Bravo is acquiring and taking Coupa Software private for $8 billion, all-cash.
Coupa Software shareholders will receive $81 per share, which is 30% higher than Coupa’s closing price last Friday.
The news also drove Coupa’s share price up 27% after the company had suffered significant losses due to the global economic downturn this year.
Coupa is a $6 billion cloud-based business spend management platform that helps businesses spend smarter and safer.
Initially, Coupa investors weren’t too happy about the sale because they believed the company was being undervalued. Right now, some investors are pushing for $95 per share instead of $81.
Thomas Bravo, on the other hand, is one of the world’s biggest private equity firms. The company has acquired several software companies this year, including Sailpoint Technologies and ForgeRock.
We don’t know what to expect in 2023 as this year came with many twists and turns, but if analysts are right, then there’s more trouble ahead for the SaaS industry. There is a high chance that more public companies will go private, acquire, or merge.
