🚨 New Podcast Alert: Wild Business Growth Podcast 🚨
In this engaging episode of the Wild Business Growth Podcast, host Max Branstetter sits down with our very own Ross Simmonds.
Here are some of the highlights:
👉 Ross shares how his early experience building an audience for a fantasy sports blog taught him the importance of content distribution, not just creation. This insight became a core principle behind Foundation’s approach as an agency.
👉 He emphasizes the need to overcome mental barriers and fears around self-promotion. Ross argues that if your content truly provides value, you have an obligation to actively share and distribute it rather than worrying about being seen as overly promotional.
👉 The conversation explores how lessons from studies on common deathbed regrets, like living authentically and maintaining close friendships, have influenced Ross’s priorities and decision-making in business and life.
👉 Ross details how he has structured his remote distributed team at Foundation to enable collaboration and productivity. He also discusses some of his unique “party trick” talents, like being an expert at dodgeball.
👉 Throughout the discussion, Ross shares his passion for rapper Lupe Fiasco’s music and how certain albums have inspired him personally.

🧠 This Week’s Brain Food 🧠
I recently experienced a personal revelation about the placebo effect, but this time, it wasn’t related to health — it involved my new laptop. I was excited when I upgraded from my five-year-old HP to the latest MacBook Pro. The glowing reviews had set my expectations sky-high, boasting about its performance and advanced features.
From the first use, I noticed a surge in my productivity. Tasks seemed smoother and quicker, though not necessarily because the new laptop was vastly superior to my old one. Instead, it was my belief in its capabilities that transformed my workflow. This belief made every task seem faster and every process more efficient.
This experience reminded me of how powerful our expectations influence our daily interactions with technology. It reflects how my positive expectations led to a perceived increase in performance.
Remembering this lesson, I now approach new tools and changes with optimism, ready to leverage any potential benefits driven partly by my beliefs.
