ACQUISITION
Reddit x Spell: What This Means For Marketers
Reddit is one of the most underrated distribution channels for B2B marketers. Some marketers have a love-hate relationship with the platform and view it as a risky investment. That’s because these marketers don’t know its value.
Reddit has over 430 million active users across 100,000 communities. These niches include entrepreneurship, marketing, SaaS, and more. That means marketers who understand Reddit best practices can drive massive growth for their company.
Reddit isn’t sleeping either.
The team has invested in shipping features to keep users more engaged on the platform. Earlier this year, Reddit rolled out the discover tab, personalized recommendations, and a new navigation system for its mobile app. These features help users find the right niche communities. It’ll also help unpopular communities get discovered.
Last week, Reddit announced its acquisition of Spell. Spell is a SaaS AI platform that has helped Square and other tech teams run machine learning experiments at scale.
Acquiring Spell is a good investment for Reddit. It’s a cost-effective way to improve its relevance to users. Reddit already uses machine learning to power the discover tab and personalized recommendations. With Spell, Reddit can run experiments without spending thousands of dollars.
For SaaS marketers, this investment means you can now discover more relevant niche communities to distribute your content. You can also make the most out of Reddit Ads as the technology will also be used to improve targeted advertising. But having these perks is not enough if you still don’t know what works for Reddit.

B2B CASE STUDY
Steal Webflow’s Product-led SEO Playbook
Webflow has had an interesting run since its inception.
From a failed Kickstarter campaign to being denied funding from Y Combinator to ending up tens of thousands of dollars in debt, the no-code website builder now boasts more than 3.5 million users and a valuation of $4 billion. Not to mention the tens of thousands of projects launched on the platform every month.
Webflow used the product-led SEO strategy to amplify the product’s value while aligning its value with the buyer’s intent. In other words, the company invested in creating content that shows users how to use the tool to achieve their goals. That’s why Webflow’s SEO moat is worth $1.3 million in organic revenue.

BRAIN FOOD OF THE WEEK:
This week, I’ll be sharing some wisdom in Melissa Zehner’s own words. Melissa Zehner is the Director of Content here at Foundation. Recently, she shared a powerful insight on LinkedIn I know you’ll find helpful. It’s a useful tip on how to make better decisions.
Here’s her piece of advice:
One of my biggest pieces of advice: Don’t make decisions based on fear.
Moving away from a fear-based mindset has improved my relationships, hobbies, career, and well-being. This should be a no-brainer. However, many of us spend more time thinking about potential consequences rather than potential upsides. 🚫 And so we play it safe. But when does anything great ever come from playing it safe? If you want life-changing results, you’ve got to take risks. And you’ve got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. 🎢
So what’s the alternative? Making decisions based on opportunity. When you’re tempted to make a fear-based decision, focus on the opportunity instead. Ask yourself:
⭐️ What’s the best thing that could possibly happen if I do this?
⭐️ Will trying this improve my income/career/skill set/relationship/health?
⭐️ Could this path open the door for even more opportunities in the future?
⭐️ Does the alternative offer fewer rewards or opportunities?
When you start looking for an opportunity, you’ll see it. Then all you’ve got to do is follow it.
You should take Melissa’s advice, and follow her on LinkedIn for content marketing, writing, and life advice 🙂
