Incubus, Matchbox Twenty, and The Verve. When I’m working, I lean towards instrumentals, lo-fi hip-hop, fingerstyle guitar covers, and game soundtracks (JRPG and anime music are my favourites!). If I need to focus, it’s either complete silence or brown noise. My girlfriend says my music taste is “stuck in the early 2000s,” and that’s because it’s one of my favourite eras in music.

I wanted to be a game developer. I spent hours playing old JRPG games and wanted to make my own.

I created one myself, but it got stuck in development purgatory and ultimately ended up being completely archived. Eventually, I learned how hard it is to be a game developer, make it a full-time job, and actually profit from it. I might revisit it someday as a passion project.

I did learn some basic coding along the way, so maybe 10-year-old me would be moderately impressed.

Playing video games (currently rotating between boomer shooters and CRPGs), practicing guitar (still trying to get good at fingerstyle — it’s a lot different from how you normally play guitar), or just chilling with my girlfriend and our two cats. 

I also enjoy tinkering with Linux distros and custom phone ROMs. There’s something satisfying about getting tech to work exactly how you want it. Sometimes, I just want to relax and scroll through Reddit for fun, engaging with communities that interest me.

I can play by ear on guitar and piano. Once I hear a song, I just need the first note to figure out the chord families and the rhythm.
