Google Analytics Individual Qualification
Nova Scotia, Canada
Cali Barnstead is a Marketing Associate with Foundation. During her time at Dalhousie University, going through the Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program, she completed three marketing based internships – two within agencies and one corporate. Outside of academics, Cali was involved with the Dalhousie Commerce Society, securing the Vice President of Marketing position in her fourth year. Within that role, Cali’s content writing and brand management skills shined! Out of interest, she has completed her Google Analytics training to the Power Use level. Now at Foundation, she will harness her education and experiences to take on content writing, market research, and SEO strategy.
Cali sees the “outside of the box” approach to all problems and does not allow roadblocks to defeat her. Cali’s life motto is “you learn from the past to move forward” which helps to keep the team motivated and focused on reaching their goals even if it isn’t easy. Here is a brief taste of Cali’s personality:
What is usually playing in your headphones?
Anything that makes me want to dance! Slow melodic music does not do it for me, for some reason it makes me feel uncomfortable. If I am in the mood to listen to more calming music I favour classical baroque pieces.
Some of my favourite artists are Glass Animals, BROCKHAMPTON, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Doja Cat, and Ariana Grande. Beyond music, I am a loyal listener of the podcasts; The Daily, Front Burner, and Under the Influence.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An airline stewardess! I grew up on planes and found their role to be the right mix of glamour and sass. I enjoy helping people and, at the same time, not afraid of confrontation. Although I am not actively chasing this dream, I am trying to learn a second language which would be a huge benefit to a future application.
What are you happiest doing, when you are not working?
When I am not working, I find I am at my happiest when exploring the world, not just travelling, but engaging in discussions surrounding culture and the different states our world can be in at once. Otherwise, I enjoy drawing – although I have zero talent I find it’s really fun to draw outlines to colour in later.
What is your hidden talent?
I often forget I have this talent and, at this point, I can no longer remember when I discovered this, but I can roll my stomach forward and backward…
What is one of your favourite quotes?
Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going. – Sam Levenson
