Digital Account Manager
Nova Scotia, Canada
Saad Zora is a Digital Account Manager with Foundation. Saad studied public relations and marketing in the small but mighty city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, at Mount Saint Vincent University. He gained digital marketing experience while immersed in Halifax’s economic development industry before transitioning to the fast-paced marketing agency world, where he developed a diverse arsenal of skills and found his true love for digital strategy, project management, and client relationship management.
Saad believes valuable steps to success are research, experimentation, making mistakes, and analysis. A wise individual once said, “if you treasure it, measure it,” which has resonated with Saad and stuck with him ever since. Here’s a brief taste of Saad’s personality:
WHAT IS USUALLY PLAYING IN YOUR HEADPHONES?
Great question. I am one for variety; therefore, I do not have a “usual” when it comes to music. Instead, I go through phases. For weeks at a time, I might be listening to the glorious and beloved Aretha Franklin. Other weeks I might be listening to good ol’ fashioned elevator music, relaxing jazz or, a random YouTube playlist. As of late, I’ve been listening to various legendary underground hip-hop artists such as MF Doom (and all related aliases), J Dilla, The Roots, and for that added soulful touch, some Curtis Mayfield and Bill Withers sprinkled in between.
WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?
An explorer! As a huge fan of Indiana Jones, I grew up wanting to explore the world as he did. My first life-changing travelling experience (after immigrating to Canada, of course) was when I was nine years old: I had the pleasure of visiting the Pyramids of Giza. Yes, they blew my mind. I have been very fortunate to exercise my passion for exploring as an adult, and I hope to resume travelling as soon as it’s possible to do so.
WHAT ARE YOU HAPPIEST DOING, WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING?
When I’m not working, I find I am happiest when I’m spending time with my family, friends, and camera. I love capturing moments and sharpening my camera skills. Photography has taught me to focus on the small details that I would not otherwise notice, allowing me to appreciate most things.
WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?
A talent of mine is my ability to rhythmically scratch records on the turntables to various genres of music. This talent, however, did not magically appear—I’ve spent many hours practicing scratching and mixing and learning how to rock a party. I have even deejayed many clubs, music festivals, and weddings.
WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTES?
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” – Babe Ruth
